Primary objective
This role is an important driver of organisational-wide change across sustainable healthcare practices and influencing NT Health's
Leadership Board. The role is responsible for identifying and developing datasets to facilitate reporting and measuring performance and
drives NT Health's sustainable healthcare agenda.
Context statement
This role is part of a small, solution-oriented team focussed on facilitating the transition of NT Health to a more environmentally sustainable
agency. NT Health is working to apply and upscale existing and emerging solutions to help mitigate the worst impacts of climate change
in line with national and international efforts.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Lead and co-lead initiatives to activation then to evaluation and reporting through complex governance systems, enabling a harmonised
approach of ensuring consistency, creating a unified structure and streamlining processes to support activation.
2. Provide expert leadership in co-design for the delivery of meaningful metrics including measures of success across complex points of
delivery by way of advice, analytics and reports.
3. Lead and support specialised practices that collates the emissions reporting in healthcare, ensuring alignment of reports to national
and international directions and commitments.
4. Demonstrate complex evaluation and reporting in scope with emissions reduction.
5. Targeted, impactful sustainability action through effective and timely transformation and communication of data into meaningful
metrics and insights.
6. Accurate regulatory, legislative and obligatory reporting.
7. Expert advice to decision making processes including opportunities, priority assessments, implementation to evaluation.
8. Lead, co-lead and co-design continuous improvement with sustainability and reduction of emissions activities.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated knowledge of sustainability in the healthcare setting; including assessing and aligning contemporary practices, trends,
technologies, research and best practice in analytics, climate and/or health; supported with evidence-based reporting.
2. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate complex concepts and to apply flexibility to adapt and be responsive to diverse
audiences.
3. Experience in designing resources and tools to enable successful recording and documentation of change.
4. Demonstrated ability in establishing reporting systems/tools to monitor and evaluate complex data, using various applications and
business intelligence systems. Advanced Excel experience is essential.
5. Ability to facilitate transformational change across NT Health in scope of sustainable healthcare and emissions reduction reporting.
6. Demonstrated skills to exemplify sustainable healthcare through a variety of complex scenarios, enact methodologies and principles,
enable fulfillment of obligations and substantiate with evidence.
7. Experience collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, including representation on state / Territory and Commonwealth
working groups.
Desirable
1. Demonstrate the knowledge of current and emerging research and other evidence-based information that supports validation of
sustainable healthcare.
2. Recent knowledge of NT Health services, systems, data sources and reporting.
