NORSTA Maritime is seeking an experienced Sustainment Operations Manager to oversee sustainment delivery across maintenance, supply support, and asset management.
Reporting to the General Manager, this role ensures Defence maritime assets are sustained safely, efficiently, and in line with contractual and regulatory requirements.
About the Role
You will manage planned and unplanned maintenance activities, sustainment performance, and compliance across Defence programs. Working closely with internal teams and Commonwealth stakeholders, you will help maintain asset integrity, manage risk, and drive continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead sustainment operations in line with Defence and contract requirements
* Ensure compliance with Defence Seaworthiness, ISO 55001, and MNT/MGT frameworks
* Oversee maintenance planning, delivery, and supply support activities
* Manage sustainment performance reporting, KPIs, and audits
* Support capability development and promote safe, efficient ways of working
* Drive improvements in reliability, efficiency, and sustainment outcomes
About You
You are a practical, outcomes-focused leader with experience in Defence sustainment or regulated asset-management environments.
You will bring:
* Experience in Defence, maritime, or regulated asset management
* Knowledge of Defence Technical Library, MNT/MGT, and sustainment governance
* Experience working within ISO 55001-aligned asset management systems
* Strong problem-solving, analytical, and stakeholder engagement skills
Qualifications:
* Tertiary qualification in Engineering and/or Project Management (AQF Level 7 (Bachelor's Degree) minimum, with Level 9 (Master's Degree) preferred)
* Asset Management, Project Management, or Defence Seaworthiness training (desirable)
