We're partnering with a well-established and innovative engineering and manufacturing organisation based in Mt Thorley, in the heart of the Hunter Valley, to recruit a hands-on Management Accountant with strong cost accounting expertise.
This is an ideal move for someone with
2–3 years' management accounting experience in manufacturing or heavy engineering, gained in an Australian business
, who wants to take on more responsibility and enjoy the benefits of regional living or perhaps return home to the Hunter Valley.
The Role
You'll play a key role in delivering accurate financial and management reporting while partnering closely with stakeholders across the business to provide insight into cost drivers, product profitability, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide cost accounting and variance analysis, including inventory management and product profitability reviews.
* Partner with operations to improve cost visibility, product pricing strategies, and manufacturing efficiency.
* Work closely with operational teams to enhance understanding of financial performance, cost drivers, and pricing strategies.
* Prepare timely and accurate month-end financial and management reports.
* Complete account reconciliations and support the delivery of the monthly reporting pack.
* Oversee compliance with BAS, FBT, payroll tax, and other statutory obligations.
What You'll Bring
* Tertiary qualifications in Accounting and CA or CPA qualification (or working towards).
* Proven experience in cost accounting principles, inventory processes, and variance analysis.
* Demonstrated experience in a similar role, ideally in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
* Experience with ERP systems (implementation or use) and advanced MS Office suite.
* A continuous improvement mindset and a hands-on, proactive approach.
