Overview
Alto Water & Environmental is seeking a skilled Electrical and Instrumentation Technician to join our team in Katherine, NT. This is a full-time position where you'll play a crucial role in supporting our team by maintaining, troubleshooting, and installing electrical and instrumentation systems across various water and wastewater projects throughout the Northern Territory.
Responsibilities
- Installing, calibrating, and maintaining electrical and instrumentation systems for water treatment and monitoring equipment
- Troubleshooting faults and performing corrective and preventative maintenance on a variety of plant and field-based equipment
- Assisting with the commissioning of new systems and upgrades of existing infrastructure
- Performing inspections, testing, and recording of equipment performance to ensure operational compliance
- Ensuring all work is carried out in line with WHS standards and company procedures
- Collaborating with engineers, project managers, and other technicians to deliver high-quality service
- Participating in on-call rotations and attending to urgent site-based issues as required
Qualifications
- Certificate III or higher in Electrical or Instrumentation (or equivalent qualification)
- Current NT Electrical Licence and White Card
- Experience in industrial, water, or environmental systems is highly regarded
- Sound knowledge of control systems, PLCs, and SCADA systems
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills with a proactive work ethic
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a field-based environment
- Valid driver’s license
