The Fire Safety Maintenance team is responsible for managing and overseeing Specialised Fire Safety Maintenance program and contract management and providing expert fire safety advice and performance management on fire safety maintenance across the portfolio. The key activities involve management of contract performance, routine servicing, monitoring, reporting, and budgeting of specialised fire safety maintenance across Housing Portfolio properties, ensuring compliance with legislation and maintaining high-quality standards through risk-based quality assurance.
The purpose of this role is to carry out on-site and desktop compliance inspections to ensure that maintenance meets required standards and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) as per contractual agreements. This role may require statewide travel including overnight stay where necessary, for the purposes of onsite audits.
**What you'll do**
As an Asset Performance Officer in Fire Safety Maintenance, your primary responsibility will be to conduct specialised fire safety compliance inspections for Housing Portfolio's Fire Safety Maintenance program. In this crucial role, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring the safety and security of our properties and occupants.
Your duties will involve performing thorough and detailed inspections of fire safety systems and equipment, adhering to established standards and regulations. You will meticulously assess fire detection, alarm systems, sprinkler systems, emergency lighting, and other critical components to identify any deficiencies or areas requiring maintenance or repair.
In addition to conducting inspections, you will be responsible for documenting your findings accurately and comprehensively. This includes preparing detailed reports outlining inspection results, identifying any non-compliance issues, and recommending appropriate corrective actions.
Collaboration will be key in this role, as you will work closely with other team members to coordinate inspection schedules, prioritise tasks, and ensure timely completion of maintenance activities.
Your expertise and attention to detail will be instrumental in maintaining compliance with fire safety regulations and standards, safeguarding the well-being of our tenants and properties.

**What we're looking for**
- Understanding of the AS 1851, Australian Building Codes, Australian Standards, Government, or commercial probity and contracting standards.
- Relevant qualification in Fire safety and/or sound construction building maintenance and/or building construction experience/exposure, together with field inspection experience and measurement of performance against standards.
- Extensive experiences and knowledge of residential property maintenance and improvements.
- Current driver's license.
- Desirable - experience in compliance inspections of building essential services
- Desirable - prior experience and exposure to fire safety maintenance in apartment buildings.
- Statewide travel is required
