About This Opportunity
We are seeking Casual Veterinary Nurses to join the team at UQ VETS. The roles will provide high-quality nursing and technical services within the Small Animal Hospital and Equine Hospital, and support the teaching of Undergraduate Veterinary Science and Veterinary Technology students in a clinical environment.
About You
* Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing and/or Bachelor of Applied Science (Veterinary Technology) and/or Bachelor of Veterinary Technology, plus at least 2 years nursing experience, or equivalent combination of relevant experience/education.
* Demonstrated ability to deliver and maintain high standards of professional veterinary nursing.
* Comfortable working sole charge nurse on a range of shifts (day, afternoon, overnights, weekends, public holidays). Shift loadings apply outside normal hours.
* High level organisational skills with initiative and autonomy.
* Good written and oral communication; ability to manage professional and operational relationships with colleagues, clients and students.
* Knowledge of ethical requirements and practices relevant to veterinary nursing; knowledge of relevant policies and safety regulations.
* Team player with ongoing professional development and willingness to participate in professional service activities (e.g., VNCA, RSPCA, PetPEP).
* Possess or be able to apply for a radiation license (where applicable).
The successful candidate may be required to complete background checks including right to work in Australia and mandatory immunisations.

It is a condition of employment that you are immunised against certain vaccine-preventable diseases in accordance with the University's Vaccinations and Immunisation Guidelines. The employee must provide evidence of immunisation against VPDs.
