Location: Bentley Campus, Perth, WA
FTE: 0.4 – 0.8 (0.4 – 0.8 FTE / 2–4 days per week), two part‑time permanent positions available.
Salary: $118,308 – $140,147 (ALB) pro rata, plus 17% superannuation.

About the Role
The School of CME seeks experienced engineering professionals with a passion for education to join our teaching team. Ideal candidates have significant experience in civil, mechanical, or construction engineering (or a closely related field) and a desire to share expertise to help students bridge theory and practice.
Responsibilities
* Actively contribute to the organisation, planning, delivery and evaluation of teaching in Civil, Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Management.
* Demonstrate best practice, innovative teaching methods that enhance the student experience.
* Assess and provide feedback on student work, contributing to curriculum innovation and content design.
* Actively engage with the Civil and Mechanical Engineering disciplines and promote a positive and inclusive work environment.
* Apply relevant health and safety standards, including required responsibilities of Supervisors for practical classes and research students.
* Promote the discipline within and outside the University community by engaging in service and leadership roles, as well as outreach activities.
* In all interactions with staff and students, demonstrate the University values of integrity, respect, courage, excellence and impact.
Selection Criteria
Essential
* Professional qualifications in Civil or Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related field, and significant, demonstrable experience in the engineering industry.
* Demonstrated capability for developing and delivering teaching in technical, professional or academic domains.
* Demonstrated ability or potential to supervise undergraduate and postgraduate research projects.
* High level communication and interpersonal skills with a commitment to fostering a collegial and supportive environment; cross‑cultural sensitivity.
* Commitment to integrity, equity, inclusivity and health and safety.
Desirable
* Chartered status with a professional engineering body.
* Experience conducting or managing industry R&D projects, and authorship/dissemination of resulting reports.
* PhD in an engineering‑related field.
Role Requirements
* Permanent work rights in Australia.
* Successful applicants will undergo a National Police Clearance, background, integrity and reference checks to Curtin's satisfaction.
* These are part‑time roles and we are open to negotiation between 0.4 – 0.8 FTE.
