Protech have had a position become available for a Senior Supervisor to overlook the delivery of construction, maintenance and upgrade work undertaken by a division of the Queensland Government throughout the greater Cairns Region. An amazing opportunity to get a foot in the door in a government role.
The role will be based out of the Cairns office starting at the end of March. Flexibility given for the right candidate.
Rate to commence with will be $68.90hr.
Position overview:
* Planning and delivering projects through the efficient supervision and development of office staff, field staff and subcontractors and the effective management of resources such as plant and equipment, depots and motor vehicles.
* Monitoring and reviewing project standards using effective work order management techniques that monitor and report to stakeholders on the status and quality of service, project delivery and expenditure, and achieve compliance with industry best practice and agreed cost and time parameters.
* Managing regional resources to effectively deliver construction, maintenance and upgrade projects ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, policies and practices.
* Providing a high level of supervisory services in respect to the delivery of construction, maintenance and upgrade work undertaken through the region
* Provide operational contract supervisory services in respect to construction and engineering contracts on major and complex projects.
* Developing and maintaining positive relationships with clients through effective and regular communication, sound negotiation and the achievement of program outcomes which meet client expectations.
* Maintaining a healthy and safe work environment, ensuring compliance with current human resource practices and principles, including employment equity, anti-discrimination and workplace health and safety.
* Proactively manage the work performance and personal conduct of your staff including forepersons and trade-staff.
Mandatory position requirements:
* Current WHS General Safety Induction Card
* Experience managing contracts or working in contract admin.
Additional requirements and/or highly desirable skills:
* Construction industry related trade qualifications highly desirable.
* Working with children blue card may be required.
* Thorough working knowledge of building construction and maintenance legislative and regulatory requirements, principles and practices and contract procedures.
* Computer proficient MS Office suite of documents
