About The Role
In an evolving digital environment, Cyber Governance, Risk, and Compliance plays a critical role in protecting systems, data, and services. Across an interconnected environment, this role supports Defence, Aviation, and Government projects by ensuring compliance with mandatory security and reporting requirements. The Cyber Governance, Risk, and Compliance Specialist acts as a cybersecurity ambassador, managing and reporting on security across the organisation while working closely with teams to promote clear communication and strong security practices.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide strategic security advice to technical and non-technical audiences.
* Provide security guidance for IT projects and solution design.
* Identify security gaps, assess maturity levels, and prepare reports.
* Lead cyber audits across multiple domains and business units.
* Stay up to date and informed on developing regulatory concerns and changing IT and information security trends.
* Maintain security policies, standards, and procedures.
* Improve security posture across cloud, identity, network, endpoint, and email security.
* Support compliance with CMMC 2.0, NIST CSF, Essential Eight, and privacy obligations.
Desired Skills and Experience
Skills, Qualification and Experience
Essential
* Leadership capabilities in cyber assessments and audits.
* Familiarity with ACSC Essential Eight, CMMC 2.0, NIST 800-171.
* Strong stakeholder engagement and technical writing skills.
* Must be eligible to obtain Baseline or NV1 security clearance.
Desirable
* 3–5 years’ experience in a cyber security role.
* Bachelor’s degree in IT or relevant cyber security certifications.
