About the Role
MGM is seeking an experienced Workers Compensation Coordinator & HSEC Analyst to support our transport and mining operations. This role plays a critical part in ensuring compliance with workers' compensation, Work Health & Safety (WHS), and broader HSEC objectives, while driving safe, sustainable, and data-informed operations.
You will take ownership of workers' compensation and injury management processes while also analysing HSEC data to identify trends, hotspots, and areas of risk. Working closely with operational teams, regulators, medical providers, and internal stakeholders, this role directly supports employee wellbeing and organisational performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Workers Compensation & Injury Management
* Manage workers' compensation claims from lodgement through to resolution
* Coordinate injury management and return-to-work programs to support safe and timely recoveries
* Maintain workers' compensation and injury management systems and documentation
* Review and process claims for medical, surgical, and associated cost reimbursements
* Ensure accurate documentation is received for weekly wage payments
* Participate in case conferences and implement cost-effective claim management strategies
* Liaise with medical professionals, rehabilitation providers, insurers, and internal teams
HSEC Analysis & Reporting
- Analyse HSEC data to identify trends, risks, and operational hotspots
- Undertake targeted "hot spotting" analysis of specific HSEC elements
- Develop reports, dashboards, and graphical insights for leadership and clients
- Support the HSEC team in achieving performance targets and compliance objectives
- Prepare and submit timely workers' compensation and HSEC reports
Stakeholder Engagement
- Build strong relationships with internal leaders, operational teams, and external stakeholders
- Communicate clearly and empathetically with injured workers and managers
- Support compliance with WHS and workers' compensation regulatory requirements
Skills and Experience:
- At least 3 years proven experience in workers' compensation, injury management, and environmental management within the transport, mining, or resources sector
- Strong leadership and change management skills to inspire and guide teams
- Familiarity with compliance and regulatory frameworks related to workers' compensation, WHS
- Technological aptitude with a drive for innovation and efficiency in injury management and HSE analytics
- Competent typing skills with a high degree of accuracy
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multitask, work to deadlines, with good time management skills
- Experience in Power BI, SharePoint, Microsoft Office Azure 365, Word, Excel & Outlook
- Strong understanding of workers compensation WA and WHSE legislation is preferred
- Ideally have been exposed to complex claims case management as well as data analytics
- Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused, empathetic approach
- Organised, able to manage multiple priorities, and a collaborative team player
