About the opportunity
The Procurement Manager reports to the CEO MJH NSW ACT and is part of the MJH leadership team. The key focus of this role is to ensure goods and services are procured according to specified quantity, quality and cost requirements, and delivered within expected time frames. In addition, you will:
* Contribute and implement the organisation's strategic procurement plan in line with the overall business objectives
* Create category strategies for various building materials suppliers and trade subcontractors from end-to-end to ensure best quality, delivery and cost is met
* Facilitate complex, high value, high risk, strategic sourcing activities and supplier negotiation.
* Preparation of Request for Quotes (RFQ) including, reviewing existing inventories, completion of RFQ templates, the receipt and review of the returned RFQs from vendors.
* Improve efficiencies in the end-to-end process for new and discontinued products to minimize waste and ensure minimal disruption to clients and the business
* Review ongoing supplier and subcontractor performance
* Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to implement continuous improvement reducing price variation cost issues
* Identify ways to continually improve our competitive advantage through category strategies and sourcing activities.
About you
You will share a passion for our purpose to be Australia's leading residential builder and be aligned to our core values: Better Together, People Matter, Be Accountable and Think Bigger. In addition, you will bring:
* Minimum 7 years' experience in a Procurement Category Management position
* Experience successfully developing, executing and managing category and sourcing strategies for large / complex categories
* Experienced with diverse procurement and responsible sourcing practices
* An effective negotiator, communicator and people influencer, able to build relationships with stakeholders across all levels
* A strategic thinker and self-starter with commercial acumen, you are able to navigate complex environments with ease
* A continuous improvement mindset with problem solving capabilitiesExperience/knowledge of the building materials/construction/manufacturing industries
You will hold a current-driver's license and have regular access to a reliable vehicle.
