Job Description:
* We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team in designing, building, and activating critical production assets required for the Starship launch vehicle.
* The successful candidate will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to develop innovative solutions that meet the needs of our fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
* Design and build custom machinery and infrastructure to enable the production and handling of Starship launch vehicles.
* Develop and implement efficient manufacturing processes to maximize production rate.
* Collaborate with vehicle engineers to influence vehicle design and manufacturing processes.
* Use technical knowledge to execute structural sizing, mechanism design, hardware fabrication, and activation testing.
* Create detailed models and engineering prints in NX software.
* Perform engineering hand calculations and analysis to size structures and mechanisms.
* Support machine activation with controls engineering team and perform development testing with production engineering team.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.
* Experience using CAD software design packages (e.g. Solidworks, NX, CATIA, or ProE).
* 1+ years of total experience in designing and analyzing mechanical structures.
