About the Role
Permanent Full Time Subacute Physiotherapist
May be required to work across all Bayside Health sites.
Bayside Health is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Subacute Physiotherapist to join our growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to your community while working in a supportive and innovative organisation.
The Grade 2 Neuro/Gerontology Physiotherapist works across the in-patient subacute ward, GEM@Home and Residential Aged Care Facilities in various locations as part of the Neuro/Gerontology physiotherapy stream. They will be based at Wonthaggi in the subacute ward and carry a full clinical caseload.
They have a broad and solid theoretical knowledge and clinical background in areas including gerontology, cardiorespiratory, orthopaedics and neurological rehabilitation. They draw on this knowledge to problem-solve and facilitate complex assessment, management and discharge planning of the older person. They are a highly valued member of the multidisciplinary team and work collaboratively to achieve the best outcomes for the patients.
The Grade 2 physiotherapist provides leadership and support to the Grade 1s and AHAs. They provide supervision and training to undergraduate physiotherapy students with the support and mentorship of the Grade 3 Physiotherapist Clinical Educator. They have effective skills to manage people, performance and systems.
They work closely with the Grade 3 in-patient physiotherapists on projects, continuous improvement, staff training and competency, and/or research. They contribute to the development of the Subacute Physiotherapy service with the support of the Grade 3 physiotherapist. They are keen to continue their education in Rehabilitation and GEM and participate in both internal and external professional development.

Mandatory Requirements
* Physiotherapist registered to practice in the state of Victoria (AHPRA)
* Be eligible for membership of the APA and uphold the APA code of conduct and ethics principles for APA members (if membership applies)
* Entitlement to work within Australia
* A police check that is current and within 12 months of the issue date
* Provision of valid Working with Children Check
* Provision of an NDIS Worker Screening Check
* Up to date influenza vaccination of healthcare workers in accordance with Secretary, Department of Health Directions
* Post graduate qualifications in any of physiotherapy, public health, research, management or other relevant area.
