About the role:
Reporting to the Procurement Manager, the Contracts & Procurement Specialist plays a key role in leading contract and procurement activities across Port Waratah. This role is responsible for executing the full tender and contract lifecycle, supporting contract holders, and ensuring compliance with procurement policies and systems. With two direct reports, the Supervisor leads a high-performing team to deliver best-value purchasing outcomes for our business.
Key Responsibilities include:
* Lead the execution of tender and contract management process, including preparing commercial terms, tender documentation, evaluation, and stakeholder communication.
* Support contract holders in contract management and transition strategies.
* Manage contract performance, amendments, and closure processes, ensuring alignment with business deliverables.
* Maintain and enhance procurement systems, including the Contractor Payment Authorisation System and ensure audit compliance.
* Champion continuous improvement in purchasing systems and vendor performance.
Desired Skills and Experience
Skills and Experience:
* Extensive experience in contract drafting and negotiation, including contract clauses.
* Ability to manage high volumes of tenders and contracts in a complex environment.
* Understanding of effective procurement systems and practices.
* Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
* Formal qualifications in contract management or purchasing or membership of CIPS will be highly regarded.
