About us
The Department of Treasury and Finance is at the centre of Government decision-making. As the principal economic and financial advisor, we provide leadership and strategic advice and influence to support the delivery of services and outcomes for the benefit of Western Australia.
What we do is integral to the Government's decision-making processes about where and how to spend taxpayer's money to ensure Western Australians have access to quality services on a financially sustainable basis.
We lead procurement and leverage our buying power to secure products and services for government, achieving value for money for WA.
We collect revenue to fund government services and administer payment of grants and subsidies to the WA community.
The work area
This role sits within the Housing Supply Unit which is part of the Economic business unit. The Housing Supply Unit works across Government and with a wide range of stakeholders, and industry on policies to boost housing supply, affordability, and prioritise infrastructure to unlock residential land across Western Australia, as well as working to secure Western Australia's fair share of federal housing funds.
The opportunity
Are you passionate about complex policy development and economic/fiscal analysis? We are looking for a motivated and experienced person to join us and make a difference for Western Australia. In this role, you will:
* Provide strategic leadership in developing and reviewing housing supply policies and strategies that align with the Government's long‐term housing objectives.
* Drive policy development through comprehensive research and analysis, identifying stakeholder needs, assessing policy options for social, environmental, and economic sustainability, and ensuring outcomes that are both sustainable and represent value for money.
* Cultivate a high‐performing, collaborative team culture by empowering staff, encouraging innovation and fresh thinking, and promoting open communication to support strong, sustainable team outcomes.
We currently have one (1) permanent full-time or part-time position available for filling within the Housing Supply Unit. Please note that, due to the operational requirements of the role, the successful candidate must be available to work a minimum of four (4) days per week.
