Mills Recruitment is seeking a skilled Senior / Lead Structural Designer to join our client's team in Perth. This role offers the chance to work with a reputable engineering consultancy delivering innovative structural design solutions across Mineral Processing, Renewables, Non-Process Infrastructure (NPI), and Commercial sectors. We're looking for a proactive designer with proven experience in mining and industrial projects, ready to contribute across a diverse range of challenging and rewarding works. About the Role You'll be involved in multiple projects spanning Mining, Renewables, and NPI sectors. Project duration's vary from a few days to several months, offering significant variety and hands-on technical involvement. This is a design-focused role, not a management position, ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment. Key Responsibilities Lead a team of Structural Designers Develop standards, cad-builds and procedures to set up for success. Produce structural design drawings for reinforced concrete and steel structures Contribute to brownfield and greenfield projects Interpret and mark up engineering sketches and documentation for drafting Collaborate with engineers on calculations and design requirements Knowledge of Structural Engineering Design software Work closely with drafting and engineering teams to ensure design accuracy and clarity Support proposal and scope of work development Liaise with senior engineers, the Engineering Manager, and Directors Key Requirements Minimum 5 years experience in structural drafting/design particularly in mining-related projects Minimum 3 years' experience on Australian-based projects, with familiarity in local codes and standards Strong proficiency with AutoCAD software both 2D and 3D Able to operate independently in a high-paced consultancy environment Perth-based or able to relocate at short notice (relocation timeline to be advised) Full Australian working rights required (no sponsorship available) If you meet the criteria and are looking for your next design-focused opportunity, we want to hear from you!
