About The Role
We are currently hiring a Grounds Person to assist with various tasks related to turf and garden maintenance. This is a hands-on role that requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and a willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions. If you have an interest in the racing industry, a strong work ethic, and a desire to learn and grow in the horticultural industry, we want to hear from you.
Responsibilities
* Assist with turf and garden maintenance tasks specifically related to the smooth running of a premium racecourse site.
* Operate hand tools and power equipment safely and effectively under the guidance of experienced team members.
* Load and unload materials, plants, and equipment from trucks and trailers.
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of work areas, tools, and equipment.
* Follow safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your team members.
* Will be required to work around a schedule of 20 weekend race meetings per year with a small amount of overtime required on weekdays

About You
* Previous experience in landscaping, gardening, or a related field is essential.
* Physical ability to lift and carry heavy objects, bend, squat, kneel, and stand for extended periods.
* Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and sun.
* Strong work ethic and commitment to completing tasks efficiently and to the highest standards.
* Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
* Certificate III Sports and Turf Management or equivalent will be looked upon favorably
* Valid manual drivers licence
* White card
* Working with Children Check, or willingness to obtain.
