$7,500.00 Recruitment Incentive for Licensed Practical Nurse $5,000.00 Recruitment Incentive for Certified Nurse’s Assistant Referral bonuses of $1,000 are available to referring DHSS employees. You must be a new employee to the State of Delaware to be eligible for this program. The Delaware Department of Health and Social Services (DHSS) seeks to increase the number of applicants for clinical nursing positions by offering a recruitment incentive to eligible Advanced Practice Nurse, Nurse Consultant, Nursing Supervisor, Compliance Nurse, Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, and Certified Nursing Assistant candidates in accordance with the DHSS Recruitment and Referral Incentive Program. The program provides incentives as follows:
6. Recruitment incentives will be paid in quarterly installments over the first year of hire and will begin after the first quarter of employment. New employees accepting this recruitment bonus must commit to two consecutive years of employment with DHSS. You must be a new employee to the state to be eligible for this incentive.
7. Referral bonuses of $1,000 are available to current DHSS employees who refer new hires to the state in the following classifications: Advanced Practice Nurse, Nurse Consultant, Nursing Supervisor, Compliance Nurse, Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, and Certified Nursing Assistant. Referral bonuses of $1,000 will be paid in quarterly installments over the first year of hire of the referred applicant.
NOTE: This program is administered by the Department of Health and Social Services. The program may be terminated by the State at any time.
Summary Statement
The incumbent in this position will provide nursing services including, but not limited to direct care, assessments, and facilitating health care services to residents. In addition, regular contact with individuals, families, nursing staff, physicians, and other departments as required.
Essential Functions

8. Administers treatments as directed.
9. Takes and records vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration).
10. Pours, administers, charts and records medications.
11. Gives prescribed intramuscular and subcutaneous injections and inoculations.
12. Observes patient behavior and condition and reports changes to appropriate staff.
13. Records information on patients' charts.

JOB REQUIREMENTS for Licensed Practical Nurse I
Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:
14. Possession of a Delaware Practical Nurse license, Delaware temporary license or multi-state compact license.
JOB REQUIREMENTS for Licensed Practical Nurse II
Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:
15. Possession of a Delaware Practical Nursing license or multi-state compact license.
16. At least six months experience as a Practical Nurse.
JOB REQUIREMENTS for Licensed Practical Nurse III
Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:

18. At least eighteen months experience as a Practical Nurse.
