Gold Fields' mining assets in the Australia region (GFA) include a 100% interest in the St Ives, Agnew, Granny Smith and Gruyere gold mines.
Our four Australian mines - Agnew, St Ives, Granny Smith, and Gruyere - are in the Eastern Goldfields region of Western Australia, where over 1,600 staff are employed on a residential and fly-in, fly-out basis.
Role Details:
Reporting to the Senior Engineer: Production, you will facilitate the safe and optimal extraction of gold from underground mining operations. In compliance with site standards, you will be responsible for all mining aspects, including the development and implementation of production plans in line with short to medium term planning targets.

This role is offered on an 8 days on 6 days off roster and is Fly in Fly out from Perth.

About the role:
* Be organized and prepared to undertake all assigned tasks by the Supervisor;
* Development and implementation of weekly, monthly, and quarterly production plans in line with operational targets demonstration.
* Ensure that stope designs and subsequent drill and blast plans maximise ore extraction and minimise dilution;
* Direct and lead all members of the technical and operational mining team and ensure goal unity through concise communication;
* Apprise the Underground Manager of issues that may affect safe and efficient production through frequent communication in an appropriate manner.
About you:
* Possess a BEng degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent
* Proven underground hard rock engineering experience, preferably gold, with exposure to all production phases, including ventilation experience in Drill and Blast, ideally longhole open stoping methods
* Have a sound understanding of machinery and care of mobile mechanical equipment.
* Hold a valid manual drivers license
