We are currently recruiting for a Content Designer to join our Federal Government client in Canberra. As a Content Designer, you will play a critical role in ensuring complex legal and policy information is translated into clear, accessible content for internal and external users.
You’ll be responsible for interpreting and simplifying legal frameworks, ensuring that content meets the needs of users while supporting the strategic objectives of the department. Your work will directly contribute to the evolution of digital government services, shaping how public sector procurement and digital marketplaces function.
Key Responsibilities:
Legal Interpretation and Translation:
* Work with legal and policy frameworks to create plain-English content for digital platforms, internal guidance, and external communications.
* Serve as the key point of contact between legal advisors and design teams to ensure content is accurate and accessible.
Collaboration with Design and Delivery Teams:
* Partner with Content Designers, delivery teams, and legal experts to develop content that enhances usability, accessibility, and clarity.
* Create content that supports a range of users – including buyers, sellers, and internal teams.
Content Development:
* Develop and maintain a suite of materials such as category descriptions, onboarding guides, FAQs, and internal briefing documents.
* Ensure all content aligns with DTA’s content standards, tone of voice, and accessibility requirements.
User-Centered Communication:
* Shape content based on insights from user research, testing, and feedback from internal and external stakeholders.
* Participate in usability testing and refine content based on findings.
Content Strategy and Governance:
* Maintain a content register, manage version control, and ensure content is up to date.
* Help develop a governance model for managing legal and policy content across platforms.
* Identify opportunities to improve existing content and proactively suggest enhancements.
* Leverage analytics, performance data, and stakeholder feedback to inform future content updates.
