**How will I help?**
In this role as Technical Lead, you will be working within the Westpac Technology Service Management team, where we are striving to be game-changing technologists that shape the future of banking. Specifically, you will be working on a customer facing digital portfolio within the bank that manages Westpac's internet banking and Open Banking services.
In this role you will have the opportunity to provide expert technical and/or domain expertise while working with a close-knit, high performing team. You will leverage your experience and knowledge in software engineering, cloud, infrastructure and networking technologies, production support/operations, vendor management, incident management and your skills in communicating with an array of stakeholders.
Your key responsibilities include:
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of services and provide technical input to the planning of the future service/features, monitoring, alerting, efficiencies and automation.
- Work with the development teams during releases to influence design, operational support features and relay the technical knowledge of new features to the support team.
- Lead the diagnosis and resolution of complex service issues.
- Provide technical direction to the direct team and ensure an always evergreen environment is maintained.
- Forecasting based on Performance and Capacity management.
- Technically evaluate proposed integrations into Westpac's Internet Banking and Open Banking for sustainability, efficiency, optimisation and supportability.
- There will also be opportunities to contribute to the Digital Cloud team and the stacks that they support.

**What do I need?**
- Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing technical initiatives.
- Demonstrated experience in managing suppliers.
- Demonstrated experience in building effective working relationships at all levels of an organisation, with both the Business and Technology teams.
- Demonstrated experience delivering IT process efficiency improvements and automation.
- Experience working in a highly regulated environment and delivering the required controls to meet Regulator expectations.
- Experience in.NET, REST, SOAP, XML, JSON, IAM, OAUTH2, YAML, Swagger, API gateway technology, SQL queries.
- Experience in using monitoring tools such as AppDynamics, Splunk.
- Experience in supporting or coding API's.
- Experience with working and interacting with a release train.
- Cloud technical knowledge
- both AWS and Azure.
- Ability to bring teams together to resolve production incidents and provide a stable production environment.
- Ability to diagnose software, network, infrastructure and design issues.
- Applied knowledge of ITIL / ITIL Certificate.
- Strong problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
- Have a continuous improvement mindset.
- Qualifications in Computer Science or relevant industry recognised certification.
- WAF and CDN configuration experience preferable.
