Seeking a motivated and experienced paediatrician to join our friendly and professional team to provide outpatient services to five of the local primary schools.

Orange Paediatrics is a friendly and professional team who strive for excellence, whilst maintaining reasonable work/life balance. They all educate their children locally and are involved in a multitude of hobbies and activities in the area. Orange Health Service (OHS) has established itself as a centre of excellence in many subspecialties including maternity/newborn care as well as general paediatrics with subspecialty outreach clinics from Children’s Hospital Westmead. OHS has a 12 bed Children’s Ward and a 4 bed level 3 Nursery.
There is also a 10 bed CAMHS in-patient unit.
Middle grade cover is provided by 3 Paediatric Advanced Trainees from Sydney Children's Hospital Network, one of whom is here for 2 out of every 3 years. There are also Paediatric SRMOs, a Rural Generalist trainee and a PGY2 JMO on the team. Teaching is an integral part of the role and there are plentiful opportunities, both within the hospital (medical students, junior medical staff and allied health colleagues) and throughout the region (local GPs, schools, allied health).
The University of Sydney Rural School of Medicine and Charles Sturt University, oversee placement of students at OHS. There is opportunity for appointment as a clinical lecturer in Child and Adolescent Health and Perinatal and Women's Health. Orange hosts an annual APLS provider course, as well as PLS and simulation training for students and staff, with three of the paediatricians and several anaesthetists, being APLS instructors.

1. Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist, and/or overseas trained specialist pathways.
2. Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and provide leadership of a team.
3. Demonstrated effective clinical communication through the use of information technology and written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
4. Demonstrated commitment to teaching, continuing education, research and quality improvement.
5. Availability to participate in an on-call roster and to respond on site within a reasonable time.
6. Fellowship of the applicable College.
7. Be willing and able to run a busy outpatient clinic demonstrating experience in managing complex medical and non-medical problems.
8. Current Licence to drive in NSW.
