We are seeking a senior lawyer to take a key leadership role within its in-house legal function.
The Role
As the Principal Legal Counsel, you will lead a capable in-house legal team of four.
Your role will combine leadership, strategic input and hands-on legal advice across a broad mix of matters including:
* General commercial contracts, IT, leasing, IP, employment and privacy
* Dispute resolution and litigation management
* Governance support and legal training for the wider organisation
* External legal provider management and spend control
* Input into corporate projects and strategic initiatives
* Oversight of procedures and precedents to improve efficiency
This is a key role with organisational impact and visibility, leading the legal function and engaging with executive and Board stakeholders.
About You
We are looking for a senior lawyer with:
* 10+ years' PQE (private practice + ideally in-house) across commercial law
* Current unrestricted QLD practising certificate
* Proven leadership skills, including mentoring and managing legal teams
* Ability to provide clear, commercial legal advice to diverse stakeholders
* Experience in regulated environments (NFP experience an advantage)
* A collegiate, supportive leadership style focused on capability building
