UGL is seeking a dedicated Commercial Manager to join our Corporate Commercial & Risk team based out of our head office in North Sydney. In this role you will collaborate with operational divisions and project teams, aiding in the preparation of complex claims on distressed projects. This role involves supporting best practice claims management to achieve optimal business outcomes.
You will develop upstream and downstream recovery plans and resolve outstanding claims. You’ll analyse project information to verify losses, and prepare claim summaries, quantum matrices and cost summaries to support claims.
Key responsibilities
* Advise on commercial strategies for distressed projects to maximise profitability.
* Develop and enforce recovery plans and resolve outstanding claims.
* Verify losses, prepare claim summaries, and ensure claims comply with contract provisions.
* Set up commercial aspects of projects, prepare subcontracts, and deliver commercial training.
* Conduct project reviews and propose solutions for time / cost compromises.
About you
* A degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Law, or Construction Management.
* Experience in construction claims within a multidisciplinary project environment.
* Strong knowledge of project management principles and contract law.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* High level of integrity and interpersonal skills.
