Our work supports Biosecurity Queensland's efforts to prevent, prepare, respond to and recover from diseases threatening livestock industries, while maintaining access to markets and upholding standards for animal welfare and animal management.
As Manager Veterinary Operations you will lead veterinary operational services that protect and enhance animal biosecurity and welfare in Queensland.

Responsibilities
Recruit, onboard and manage staff including allocating work, monitoring performance, developing skills and knowledge under Departmental HR policy and procedures.
Use professional veterinary expertise and experience to support the team's animal disease investigation and surveillance activities, and provide professional advice and analysis to resolve and/or manage animal biosecurity and welfare enquiries and notifications in a timely manner.
Support the team's provision of animal welfare advice, including veterinary opinions for animal welfare investigations.
Maintain oversight of biosecurity threats and provide expertise and leadership experience in potential and/or emergent biosecurity incidents.
Ensure the team develops and maintains effective relationships, networks and partnerships with key stakeholders across the state.
Mandatory qualifications / licences and registrations
Australian Bachelor degree (AQF level 7 or equivalent) in Veterinary Science, eligible for registration in Queensland.
Registration with the Veterinary Surgeons Board of Queensland.
