Working Foreman – Fencing Works

Tranex Solar is a fast-growing specialist Balance of Plant contractor delivering solar and battery projects across Australia. We self-perform our civil, mechanical and DC electrical scopes and are now expanding our in-house fencing and perimeter works capability.
We are looking for a hands-on Working Foreman to lead and deliver fencing packages on our solar projects, while also working as part of our broader construction team when fencing is not active.
This is a practical, site-based role for someone who enjoys being on the tools, running plant and seeing a job done properly.

About the Role
You will be responsible for delivering all fencing and perimeter works on site, including:
* Setting out fence lines, gates and access points from drawings
* Installing chainmesh fencing, posts, rails, gates and barbed wire
* Leading a small fencing crew (typically 3–4 people)
* Operating skid steers, augers and small excavators
* Managing ground conditions, post installation and concrete works
* Ensuring fence quality, alignment, tension and compliance
When fencing is not underway, you will work with the civil and mechanical crews assisting with:
* Plant operation
* Material handling
* Trenching and general site works
* Truck and equipment operation
You will be part of the core site team, not a subcontractor working in isolation.

What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who enjoys taking responsibility and getting stuck in:
* Solid experience installing chainmesh fencing on commercial, infrastructure, mining or solar sites
* Ability to read drawings and accurately set out fencing and gates
* Comfortable operating skid steers, augers and/or excavators
* Experience leading a small crew
* A practical, problem-solving approach
* Willingness to travel to project sites across Australia
Solar or large-scale construction experience is an advantage.
