The Kent Hotel is seeking a passionate and motivated Chef to join our kitchen team. We offer a fast-paced, professional environment with opportunities to further develop your skills and career. Casual positions are currently available.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
* A minimum of 2 years' experience in a commercial kitchen, with a CV demonstrating role progression and relevant cookery qualifications.
* Strong knowledge of food safety standards and current certification.
* Excellent administration and organisational skills, with confidence using kitchen systems and basic computer programs.
* A positive, team-focused attitude, with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the business.
Key Responsibilities
* Execute high-quality food preparation and cooking during both prep and service periods.
* Work confidently across a 7-day rotating roster, including days, nights and weekends.
* Maintain consistency and quality while adapting to service demands.
* Uphold all food safety, hygiene and WHS standards, ensuring compliance.
* Assist in stock rotation, labelling, inventory checks and minimising food waste.
* Support senior chef with menu execution and contribute creative ideas when appropriate.
* Build strong working relationships with the broader venue team.
* Take ownership of your section, ensuring cleanliness, organisation and readiness for service.
