The Role
Based at Gemco Rail's Forrestfield facility in Perth, the Senior Service Delivery Manager plays a pivotal leadership role in positioning the site as a centre of operational excellence. Reporting directly to the General Manager, Operations, you will drive the strategic direction, performance, and profitability of the facility while fostering a strong, people‐focused culture and have oversight of all operations across their three WA facilities, at the Forrestfield, Midvale and Karratha Facilities.
You will be responsible for delivering on operational, financial, and customer objectives, ensuring the facility consistently exceeds safety, quality, and service standards. A key part of the role will be building a best‐in‐class service environment that differentiates Gemco Rail from competitors, expands market share, and supports sustainable business growth.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Leading by example to champion a safety‐first culture and continuous improvement ethos.
* Developing and implementing consistent service processes, procedures, and systems to ensure operational excellence.
* Managing budgets and P&L performance, identifying risks and opportunities, and delivering against business plan targets.
* Working closely with the business development team to grow market share across existing and new customer segments.
* Driving cultural and organisational development by building a high‐performing, people‐centric team and succession planning across all levels.
* Playing a key leadership role in the broader operations team, influencing strategic initiatives and contributing to company‐wide planning and policy.
* Collaborating cross‐functionally with peers and internal stakeholders to champion and implement lean methodologies, driving continuous improvement, operational efficiency, and a culture of innovation across the business.
About You
You will be an experienced operations or service delivery leader with strong technical and industry knowledge and a proven track record of managing large‐scale service facilities or operational teams. You bring well‐developed strategic thinking, project management, and financial acumen, coupled with excellent communication skills and the ability to build trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Your leadership style is people‐focused, and you are passionate about developing high‐performing teams and driving a culture of safety, engagement, and excellence. You thrive in fast‐paced environments and are adept at balancing growth ambitions with risk management and operational discipline.
