Based at our office in Newstead, we have an exciting opportunity for an early-career
Graduate Bridge Engineer
to join our team. You will contribute to making the heavy-vehicle industry safer, reducing road deaths and injuries. The role involves working with local councils to assess the capabilities of bridges and culverts, helping modern, safer and more productive vehicles access the road network.
You will undertake reviews of bridge assessments performed by contracted parties and contribute to systems that automate heavy-vehicle access decisions for local road managers. The role also supports the development of guidance and training materials for road managers and asset assessors. You will work under the guidance of the NHVR's Chief Structural Engineer and be part of a close, high-performance team.
This is a
temporary full-time role

About You
Motivated to contribute to outcomes, you are a creative and logical thinker who thrives on solving technical problems collaboratively. You can work independently, manage multiple projects, and demonstrate high-level problem-solving, creativity, perseverance, and strong planning and prioritisation skills.
Key Requirements
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and develop strong stakeholder relationships.
Previous exposure to AS**** (Bridge Design), grillage modelling of bridge structures (ideally using Space GASS), and experience in programming is desirable.
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering is mandatory, with a demonstrated understanding of bridge assessment and/or bridge design. Any additional experience will be beneficial but is not required.
