Peabody is seeking aTechnical Services Superintendentto join our Coppabella Mine team in Queensland.
This is a key leadership role where you'll oversee the technical services function, ensuring safe, efficient, and sustainable mining operations.
Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, you'll provide strategic direction, mentor a high-performing team, and deliver technical excellence across mine planning, geology, and survey disciplines.
About the role
As Technical Services Superintendent, you will:
Lead and develop the Technical Services team to achieve operational and strategic goals
Oversee mine planning, design, and scheduling to optimise production and resource recovery
Provide technical expertise and support to operations, ensuring compliance with statutory and company standards
Drive continuous improvement initiatives in safety, productivity, and cost efficiency
Collaborate with stakeholders across operations, projects, and corporate functions
Ensure accurate and timely reporting of technical data and performance metrics
About you
We're looking for someone who brings:
Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering, Geology, or related discipline
Proven leadership experience in open-cut coal mining operations
Strong technical knowledge of mine planning, design, and scheduling software
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Demonstrated ability to lead teams and deliver results in a dynamic environment
