Employment Type: Full-time/Part-time

Start Date: In the new year, 2026.

Are you an experienced paediatric speech pathologist with a passion for working in neurodevelopmental assessment? We're looking for a clinician who is experienced, confident, curious, and committed to delivering high-quality, child-centred autism assessments within a specialist multidisciplinary team.

About the Role

You will be part of a multidisciplinary team providing:

• Comprehensive autism assessment for children and adolescents

• Standardised language and communication assessments

• Observations and play-based assessment

• Parent & educator interviews and developmental history gathering

• Contribution to diagnostic formulation within a supportive team

• Clear, clinically sound report writing

• Feedback and explanation of results to families

This role suits someone who loves assessment and teamwork, and enjoys a dynamic environment where no two days look the same. You will complete assessments locally in the practice rooms with a paired psychologist or drive together as a team to nearby regions, and sometimes fly to remote areas, approximately every 4-6 weeks, with a day off in lieu for every overnight stay.

About You

You will be a great fit if you:

• Are a qualified Speech Pathologist with SPA registration

• Have experience in paediatric language and autism assessment

• Have knowledge or training in autism diagnostic tools (ADOS, ADI-R, CELF) or are keen to upskill in these areas

• Are confident working collaboratively with psychologists and paediatricians

• Are comfortable with structured assessment and strong in clinical reasoning

• Communicate with warmth, clarity, and professionalism

• Value evidence-based practice and family-centred care

What We Offer

• A supportive, neuro-affirming team culture

• Training and supervision in autism assessment

• Opportunities to develop specialist skills

• Admin support so you can focus on clinical work

• Competitive remuneration

• PD allowance
