Speech Pathologist – Autism Assessor
Location: Mount Pleasant rooms, drive-in-drive out (DIDO) & fly-in-fly-out (FIFO)

Are you an experienced paediatric speech pathologist with a passion for working in neurodevelopmental assessment? We're looking for a clinician who is experienced, confident, curious, and committed to delivering high-quality, child-centred autism assessments within a specialist multidisciplinary team.
About the Role
You will be part of a multidisciplinary team providing:
• Comprehensive autism assessment for children and adolescents
• Standardised language and communication assessments
• Observations and play-based assessment
• Parent & educator interviews and developmental history gathering
• Contribution to diagnostic formulation within a supportive team
• Clear, clinically sound report writing
• Feedback and explanation of results to families
This role suits someone who loves assessment and teamwork, and enjoys a dynamic environment where no two days look the same. You will complete assessments locally in the practice rooms with a paired psychologist or drive together as a team to nearby regions, and sometimes fly to remote areas, approximately every 4-6 weeks, with a day off in lieu for every overnight stay.
About You
You will be a great fit if you:
• Are a qualified Speech Pathologist with SPA registration
• Have experience in paediatric language and autism assessment
• Have knowledge or training in autism diagnostic tools (ADOS, ADI-R, CELF) or are keen to upskill in these areas
• Are confident working collaboratively with psychologists and paediatricians
• Are comfortable with structured assessment and strong in clinical reasoning
• Communicate with warmth, clarity, and professionalism
• Value evidence-based practice and family-centred care
