Emergency Mental Health Nurse Consultant
Role Overview:
The Emergency Mental Health Service (EMHS) is a specialist service that provides emergency mental health assessment and intervention to clients in the Emergency Department, as well as young people who are admitted to medical wards and women who attend the women's assessment service outside of normal business hours.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide clinical mental health nursing expertise for children, adolescents, peri-natal women, and their families with mental health issues.
* Deliver specialist mental health nursing assessment, risk assessment, and clinical intervention to consumers with complex or immediate mental health needs.
* Ensure follow-up and referral for mental health consumers within the Paediatric Emergency Department and inpatient areas, as required.
