This is a rare opportunity to lead the strategic direction of a major clinical program within a pioneering academically integrated healthcare environment where outstanding patient care, world-class research and transformative education come together.As Clinical Program Head, you will provide overarching strategic and clinical leadership for the Cardiovascular & Respiratory Program across Macquarie University Hospital and Clinics. You will set the vision for the program's growth and development, champion clinical governance and quality, and drive the integration of discovery, translational and clinical research into everyday practice, ensuring patients benefit from the latest evidence-based advances. You will also play a pivotal role in fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and supporting the education and development of the next generation of clinicians and researchers.This is a **part-time (0.1 FTE), 3-year fixed-term** appointment ideally suited to a senior cardiovascular or respiratory clinician who brings a strong track record in clinical leadership, governance and a deep commitment to advancing the integration of care, teaching and discovery.**About the Role**As Clinical Program Head — Cardiovascular & Respiratory Program, you will be responsible for:* Providing high-level strategic clinical leadership across the Cardiovascular & Respiratory Program, setting the vision, priorities and direction for the program in alignment with the Macquarie University Health Clinical Services Plan.* Establishing and overseeing a robust clinical governance framework for the program, including clinical audits, quality review meetings, morbidity and mortality reviews, and incident and risk management processes.* Managing and delivering upon program performance across clinical care, teaching and research in line with agreed KPIs.* Monitoring clinical performance data and driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes, safety and quality across the program.* Leading, mentoring and developing Clinical Directors and the broader clinical leadership group within the program to ensure effective and formalised governance of all disciplines.* Championing the adoption of improved models of care, clinical innovation and enhancements to practice for the benefit of patients.* Facilitating the translation of research into evidence-based clinical practice and driving the application of research findings to improve patient care and health outcomes.* Fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and the integration of discovery, clinical and translational research across cardiovascular and respiratory services.* Championing and overseeing participation in student and junior doctor teaching and development programs within the program.* Actively contributing to workforce planning, anticipating future challenges and proactively addressing capability gaps to support the strategic growth of cardiovascular and respiratory services.Macquarie University Health combines Macquarie University Hospital and Clinics and the Macquarie University Faculty of Medicine, Health and Human Sciences to deliver integrated clinical care, research and learning.
