Are you an experienced Early Childhood educator ready to step into a leadership role? We are seeking a passionate and motivated Assistant Director to support the daily operations of our childcare service in West Gosford.
This role is ideal for an experienced early childhood professional who is ready to take the next step in their career and work in close partnership with our Director to support the smooth and successful running of our service. We pride ourselves on creating a nurturing environment for children, families and educators — and we are looking for a leader who shares that commitment.
About the Role
As Assistant Director, you will work alongside the Director to support both the operational and educational leadership of the service. Your role will include:
* Supporting the day-to‐day operations of the centre
* Assisting in maintaining compliance with the National Quality Framework (NQF) and National Quality Standard (NQS)
* Ensuring adherence to the Education and Care Services National Regulations (NSW)
* Assisting with enrolments, family tours and maintaining strong occupancy levels
* Supporting administrative tasks, rosters and documentation
* Mentoring and guiding educators to maintain high‐quality practice
* Supporting curriculum implementation in line with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF)
* Building positive, respectful relationships with families and the community
* Stepping into the Director role when required
This is a hands‐on leadership position where you will be supported, valued and encouraged to grow.
About You
* Diploma or Bachelor qualification in Early Childhood Education (or working towards)
* Minimum 3–5 years' experience in a Long Day Care setting
* Sound understanding of compliance and quality improvement processes
* Strong organisational and communication skills
* Confidence in supporting enrolments and engaging with families
* A collaborative and supportive approach to team leadership
* Current NSW Working With Children Check
* Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis certification

Worker Retention Payment
In addition to the advertised hourly rate, employees in this role will also receive the Worker Retention Payment for Early Childhood Education and Care educators. This government‐funded payment is paid on top of your regular wages and recognises the important work of early childhood professionals, in line with the program guidelines.
Please note that the advertised pay rate is a guide only. Final hourly rate will be discussed and determined based on qualifications, skills and experience.
