Key Responsibility: Provide leadership and consultancy for the Paediatric Palliative Care Services
The Child and Adolescent Health Service (CAHS) is a comprehensive service that supports and treats children from around Western Australia, and is committed to programs that promote lifelond health in children and adolescents.
The successful applicant will be expected to provide leadership tothe paediatric palliative care team, medical practitioners and multidisciplinary teams in the palliative care management of their patients and families both within and external to PCH. In addition to broad ranging clinical responsibilities, the position will be active in education and research, and in advising on and ensuring CAHS governance, safety and quality requirements.
The successful applicant:
* Eligible for registration by the Medical Board of Western Australia
* Have a specialist qualification in Paediatric Palliative Care or Palliative Care or overseas equivalent that is recognised for registration as a specialist with the Medical Board of Australia
* Demonstrates significant knowledge experience and leadership in paediatric palliative care
* Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate with clinicians within a teaching hospital setting and in the wider community, with an interest and understanding of paediatric palliative care
* Ability to work in an interdisciplinary team and a commitment to a team approach on health issues
* Appropriate clinical experience in paediatric palliative care patient management
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Commitment to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.
