Job Title: Executive Officer to the Chief Executive Officer
Description:
We are seeking a dynamic and highly professional individual to fill the role of Executive Officer to the Chief Executive Officer. The successful candidate will work closely with the CEO, Mayor, and Councillors to provide high-level professional support and advice on governance, strategy, and leadership.
Responsibilities:
* Provide strategic support and advice to the CEO and Council on governance, risk management, audit, and compliance.
* Manage and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including government agencies, community groups, and industry partners.
* Develop and implement governance policies and procedures to ensure effective decision-making and risk management.
* Represent the CEO's office in various settings, including meetings, conferences, and public forums.
Requirements:
* Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline or significant practical experience in a similar role.
* Demonstrated experience in managing organisational and legislative compliance, including corporate reporting, risk management, and audit.
* Sound knowledge of the economic, social, technical, and political environment impacting local government.
* Proven experience in executive support roles, dealing with confidential and sensitive issues, including providing specialist expertise and recommendations.
* Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with emphasis on consultation, advocacy, negotiation, influencing, conflict resolution, and assertiveness.
