About us:
The Central Queensland Public Health Unit (CQPHU) is dedicated to promoting and protecting the health of the Central Queensland community through disease prevention, control, and emergency health response. As part of its routine operations, Tuberculosis (TB) management is embedded into the CQPHU. CQPHU also conducts industry-sponsored clinical trials and other public health and clinical research, contributing to the advancement of healthcare in the region. CQPHU consists of a multi-disciplinary team of staff including Public Health Physicians, Public Health Nurses, Environmental Health officers, Public Health Epidemiologists, Data Officer, and business services staff, including some with regional wide roles.
About the role:
The Clinical Nurse – Tuberculosis (CN) within The Central Queensland Public Health Unit is a registered nurse who demonstrates advanced clinical expertise and autonomy in the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care. The CN provides leadership in clinical decision-making, coordination of patient care, and mentors nursing staff across various nursing roles. The CN contributes to service excellence through portfolio responsibilities in clinical practice, education, research, and may assume leadership duties in the absence of the senior nursing team.
About you
The successful applicant will hold a tertiary degree qualification such as a Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent. Current nursing registration through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) is also a requirement for this position.
Whilst not mandatory, a relevant post-graduate qualification and/or experience related to public health or infectious disease would be well.
Evidence of completion or ability to undertake Nurse Immuniser training (including BCG) would be highly.
What we offer
Total remuneration value of up to $92,329 is comprised of:
An hourly rate between $***** - $***** p.h.
