Senior Warehouse Storeperson / Inventory Controller
We are looking for a professional warehouse operator — someone who treats the warehouse as their responsibility, not just their workplace.
This role suits an experienced storeperson who takes pride in order, accuracy, safety, and accountability. Someone who notices when things don't line up and fixes them.
You will be trusted to take ownership of stock accuracy, warehouse organisation, and operational readiness.
If you like structure, solving problems, and running a clean, controlled warehouse environment — this role is for you.
About the role
We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Senior Warehouse Storeperson / Inventory Controller to join our team at Victorian Educational Furniture in Mulgrave, Victoria. This full-time role will be responsible for overseeing the efficient and accurate management of our warehouse operations and inventory control.
What you'll be doing
You will be responsible for ensuring our warehouse operates accurately, safely, and efficiently every day.
Prepare and conduct rolling stock counts in accordance with both existing annual plan and immediate needs and update our ERP system (SAPB1) accurately.
Maintaining complete alignment between physical stock and ERP inventory for accurate forecasting and efficient processing of sales orders
Space planning and coordinating stock receipt from container shipments and local suppliers.
Safe and efficient forklift operation and material handling
Preparing, pre-picking and staging stock for production and customer orders using our live production and delivery schedules (Google Sheets)
Maintain a clean, safe, and highly organised warehouse — "a place for everything and everything in its place"
Perform quality control (QC) checks and quarantine non-compliant or damaged goods as required, alerting the relevant people, and adjusting the ERP system as required.
Alerting management to quality issues and damages and amending the ERP system
Identifying discrepancies and resolving root causes — not just reporting them
Ensure stock is stored correctly, counted and labelled for easy identification in accordance with internal SOPs
Support and maintain ISO warehouse compliance, including daily forklift checks, record keeping and process reviews (IMS Software)
Proactively suggest and implement improvements to stock handling, storage, and warehouse layout
Uphold a strong safety culture and actively contribute to hazard identification and reporting and rectification
Basic production as needed
This role requires moderate physical work capabilities including safe material handling and warehouse operations
This is an autonomous position with real responsibility and trust.
