The role of Condition Based Maintenance Technical Officer is a unique opportunity to work in an environment that combines technical expertise with meaningful contributions.
As a key member of the Logistics Engineering Department, you will be responsible for performing detailed analysis of Collins Class Submarine systems, utilizing logistics engineering and condition-based maintenance techniques to provide recommendations on aspects of submarine design, maintenance, supportability, and safety.
About the Role
This position involves:
* Development of Pre-availability Condition Assessment (PACA) documents for in-service activities.
* Collection and analysis of Vibration Analysis (VA) data from CCSM, using Systems level SQEP for final recommendations.
* Collection and analysis of Infra-Red Thermography data from CCSM, reporting results and utilizing Systems level SQEP for final recommendations.
* Management of the Spectrographic Oil Analysis Program (SOAP) for RAN and ASC for CCSM, analyzing SOAP reports, monitoring trends, and providing recommendations to Projects/RAN and supporting emergent work.
* Conducting Wear Debris Analysis (WDA) and reporting in conjunction with SOAP reporting or investigative purposes to support RAN and Engineering.
* Collecting and processing oil samples from CCSM for laboratory analysis and coordinating reporting.
* Maintaining the Engineering Laboratory.
* Ensuring delegations and licenses are maintained to enable Condition Monitoring (CM) data collection, storage, analysis, and reporting based on a consistent supply of quality CM data.
* Collaborating with the Collins Platform Systems Integrator and CoA to derive optimum solutions.
* Reviewing and updating CMS processes.
* Raising Maintenance Amendment Proposals (MAPs).
Other duties may be assigned by the Logistics Engineering Manager or designated lead.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you must have:
* An electrical or mechanical fitting trade certificate or higher.
* A strong commitment to safety and sound communication skills.
* A proven ability to be flexible and eager to learn and develop new skills.
* Previous experience in shipbuilding, defence, or heavy engineering is desirable.
* Experience in vibration analysis and thermography is desirable but not essential.
Eligibility
This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
