**Position Information**:
The Educational Pathways Program (EPP) is a Ministerial and executive priority program in schools designed to improve higher education and career outcomes for young people by introducing students in NSW government high schools to a range of vocational training and employment pathways.
Our team of Head Teacher Secondary Studies (non-teaching) work across a group of up to seven schools to grow the program and establish local Careers Immersion Teams. This position will be based at **Hunter Sports High School **and work collaboratively across a network of schools to create student opportunities to engage with industry and tertiary providers.

**Selection Criteria**:
1. Evidence of highly developed interpersonal skills with a demonstrated capacity to effectively lead a productive and collaborative team of diverse teachers, manage the implementation of changes in culture and direction to achieve defined goals.
2. Demonstrated expertise and highly developed skills in implementing whole school programs and initiatives.
3. Demonstrated capacity to plan and contribute to professional learning within the school and strong participation in local or other professional networks.
4. Demonstrated ability to develop cooperative partnerships and relationships within the school, across schools, with parents, businesses and industry.
**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies
**Conditions**:
A valid NSW drivers licence is essential.
The conditions of employment for a Head Teacher Secondary Studies - Educational Pathways Program, are school based conditions of employment as provided for under the Crown Employees (Teachers in Schools and Related Employees) Salaries and Conditions Award 2020, the Teachers Handbook and other relevant policies and procedures of the department.
Substantive permanent teachers who accept a full time temporary appointment as a Head Teacher Secondary Studies, will retain right of return to their substantive school and position level at the end of the temporary appointment if they will not have been out of their substantive school based appointment for more than three years by the end of this appointment.
