Behaviour Support Practitioner Job Opportunity
We are seeking a Behaviour Support Practitioner to join our team, where you will play a vital role in improving the quality of life of individuals with disabilities. The primary goal is to provide positive behaviour strategies and collaborate with participants to achieve their goals.
This is an excellent opportunity for experienced practitioners or those fresh out of university with a qualification in Psychology, Counselling, Social Work, or similar. You will receive a structured induction and on-the-job training to ensure your success in this role.
Your Key Responsibilities:
* Build close relationships with participants, their families, and service providers by creating a supportive and safe environment.
* Provide professional information to individuals with disabilities and their support circle regarding evidence-based approaches to reduce challenging behaviours.
* Ensure the support we deliver aligns with the participant's NDIS Plan.
* Undertake behavioural assessments with NDIS participants who have complex and challenging behaviours.
* Develop and implement intervention strategies in consultation with individuals and families.
* Record support plans, notes, and documents accurately in line with the NDIS framework.
What We Are Looking For:
* A completed degree qualification (or higher) in Psychology, Social Work, Counselling, or similar.
* Experience or knowledge of contemporary practices and trends in relation to service provision for people with intellectual and/or cognitive disabilities.
* The ability to motivate, build rapport, and attune with participants, their families, and service providers.
* A strong understanding of good clinical practice, jurisdictional requirements, and the context in which Behaviour Support is provided.
* Strong IT, admin, and organisation skills, as you will be working with billable time.
