TESS Search Partners is proud to be partnering with IA Group (IA), a nationally respected design and advisory practice, to appoint a Project Lead for their growing Darwin presence. This is a newly created role, designed to support IA's expanding portfolio across the Northern Territory and strengthen long-term client partnerships in the region.
Reporting to the National Director, this role sits at the intersection of client-side consultancy, business development and leadership across project planning and delivery. Based in Darwin, you will play a key role in managing Architecture projects on behalf of clients while also supporting the growth of IA's local client base across commercial, government and defence-related sectors.
You will work closely with clients, contractors, consultants and IA's national team, acting as a trusted representative throughout the project lifecycle, from early engagement and briefing through to construction and handover.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support business development activity in the NT by building strong relationships with existing and new clients, managing the studio revenue
* Contribute to fee submissions and early-stage project scoping
* Act as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants and contractors throughout delivery
* Lead and manage Architectural projects and support staff
* Lead and effectively collaborate with the project team to provide technical direction on Business Management Systems (BMS), design and development and deployment
* Monitor project progress, identify risks early and drive best for project outcomes
* Represent IA Design professionally in the Darwin market, supporting long-term growth and repeat work
Ideally, you will be someone who enjoys autonomy, responsibility and being close to both clients and projects. You are comfortable operating in a fast-paced, relationship-driven environment and enjoy balancing delivery with commercial engagement. You may come from a background in client-side project management, construction management or Architecture consultancy, and you are confident working across multiple projects concurrently.
You are likely to demonstrate:
* Proven experience managing new build or refurbishment projects end-to-end on a client-side or consultancy basis
* Strong understanding of project design delivery, consultant coordination, Australian Standards and NNC legislation
* Confidence engaging with clients, builders and consultants at senior levels
* A commercial mindset and interest in supporting business development and pipeline growth
* Strong communication skills and a practical, solutions-focused approach
Experience working in the Northern Territory or regional markets will be highly regarded.
