Position Information

Condell Park High School is a comprehensive co-educational school located in the Bankstown district of Sydney, with a Support Unit for students with Autism. The school serves a culturally and linguistically diverse population of approximately 914 students, representing more than 40 language backgrounds. As a result, 67% of students require support for EAL/D (English as an Additional Language or Dialect).

In response to this diversity, the school prides itself on delivering a differentiated and inclusive curriculum that meets the learning needs of all students while fostering a connected community that promotes high aspirations and future-focused opportunities. The school motto, 'The Future is Ours,' highlights this commitment to providing high-quality teaching and learning experiences.

The school is funded for 75 teaching and 24 non-teaching staff positions, most of whom have an average of 9.5 years of engagement at our school. Early Career teachers receive intensive support through a structured induction program.

The school offers a well-balanced, holistic curriculum with a wide range of academic, vocational and sporting initiatives. An increased focus on high-potential and gifted-and-talented students through cross-curricular and high-impact learning opportunities will meet system-negotiated targets for reading, numeracy and wellbeing.

The school's Support Unit (Autism) provides a nurturing and structured setting for students with disabilities. There are five dedicated classes for students with Autism. These students participate in all school activities, reflecting the school's inclusive capacity and philosophy. The Support Unit is well recognised for its educational programs and links with the business community.

The school is undergoing significant refurbishment to secure up-to-date facilities for students, teachers and the community. The project has completed this year's planning phase, including consultation with the school and local community. The upgrade will include 16 new permanent classrooms and core facilities (school hall and sports court), the refurbishment of existing classrooms and the removal of temporary demountable classrooms.

The school's pedagogical context is driven by its commitment to providing quality education to its school community and to bridging the equity gap to equip students to become future global citizens. Over the next year, the school's core focus is to implement and embed programs that pursue its strategic directions and system-negotiated targets.
