Gumnut Bakery is seeking an experienced Pastry Chef to join our team across our bakery locations in Mittagong, Bowral, and Berrima. We are looking for someone passionate about producing high-quality pastries, cakes, desserts, and baked goods in a busy bakery environment.
Key Duties
* Prepare, bake, and decorate pastries, cakes, desserts, and other baked products
* Measure, mix, and prepare ingredients according to recipes and production requirements
* Prepare fillings, creams, icings, glazes, and decorations
* Monitor baking times, temperatures, and product consistency
* Ensure all products meet quality, taste, and presentation standards
* Operate bakery and pastry equipment safely and efficiently
* Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety standards
* Assist with stock control, ordering, and minimising wastage
* Support the development of new and seasonal pastry products
* Work with the team to meet daily production targets
Requirements
* At least 2 years of relevant experience as a Pastry Chef or similar role
* Strong knowledge of pastry, cake, and dessert preparation
* Good attention to detail and presentation skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
* Availability to work early mornings, weekends, and busy periods as required
