Paediatric speech pathologist (mount gambier)

Mount Gambier
Limestone Speech
Posted: 19 November
Offer description

- Just graduated and can't wait to put your professional knowledge into practice?

- Looking to start your speech pathology career but worried about moving away from your family?

It's really nice down here on the Limestone Coast!

About us:

We aim to empower families with the skills and resources they need to help reach their true potential and build confident communicators. We intentionally create a fun environment and tailor our intervention by considering a child's motivators, goals, and interests. We also work in partnership with families and give practical advice with language that everyone understands.

We are the largest private paediatric speech pathology clinic in South Australia’s Limestone Coast region. Our team currently works across two clinics in Naracoorte and Mount Gambier, providing support for children and their families, as well as some adult clients across the far south-east of SA.

Limestone Speech offers a flexible, friendly and supportive work environment with beautifully appointed rooms, outstanding resources and a fabulous team.

About the role:

We are looking to add a valued Speech Pathologist to our vibrant team, which currently includes qualified Speech Pathologists, a Speech Pathology Assistant, and a Client Coordinator. While the position is offered as a full-time, permanent (salaried) role, part-time hours would also be considered for the right candidate. The position can be based in our Naracoorte or Mount Gambier clinic.

We work closely with families and children on a regular basis (weekly and fortnightly). This allows you to work in partnership with children and their families and celebrate the little successes together along the way.

Benefits and perks:

- Permanent, salaried position with above public and private award remuneration ($80'000+).

- Up to $5000 to help cover the costs of moving.

- Up to $10'000 a year for professional development.

- Flexible hours and ongoing mentoring/training so you don't have that feeling of being thrown in the deep end.

- Administration support and a huge selection of resources to ensure you do more of the clinical things you love.

- Your own consulting room, laptop and tablet. You can set your own room up in a way that works for you!

- Clinical variety and great team support to give you a broad range of experiences.

- We consult in two beautiful locations with a low cost of living and great community feel. Our Mount Gambier office is only 20 minutes from the beach and there are lovely walking tracks just outside your door.

Skills and experience:

Some clinical experience working with school-aged children on the Autism Spectrum would be desirable but new graduates are also highly encouraged to apply. We also understand what supports you may need as a new grad and we are happy to work alongside you until you are feeling confident and competent on your own.

We would also like to hear from 3rd or 4th year speech pathology students as there may be opportunities to start as a Speech Pathology Assistant while still completing your studies.

Our successful applicant will have:

- A passion for providing children and their families best practice speech pathology services in a flexible, fun, family-centred approach.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and an ability to work as part of a cohesive team.
- A degree in speech pathology from a recognised tertiary institution.
- Current membership with Speech Pathology Australia.
- An understanding of strength-based practice and family-centred practice.
- Demonstrated experience in organisation and time management skills.
- A South Australian Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check.

Desirable criteria:

- Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Experience working with a paediatric caseload and with children who have Autism Spectrum Disorder.

How to join the team:

Please address your application to Monique Martin with a resume and cover letter. If you have any questions please call Monique on 1300 911 561 or send an email to admin@limestonespeech.com.au. Interviews will be offered as applications are received.

Please note we are unable to accept resumes and phone calls/emails from recruitment agencies.
