Are you passionate about supporting veterans and military families? Do you bring lived experience of Army service or military family life, along with personal experience of navigating a mental health journey?
Available Locations:
* Queensland (Townsville, Ipswitch, Mt Gravatt Brisbane)
* Northern Territory (Winnellie - including regional travel on a rotating roster)
* Tasmania (Hobart (including travel to Devonport and Launceston as required)
* New South Wales (Lismore, Newcastle, Surry Hills -Sydney)
* Victoria (Melbourne. Albury-Wodonga)
* South Australia (Eastwood, Elizabeth)
* ACT (Phillip)
About the Role As a Community and Peer Worker, you will provide personalised peer support services under a recovery-focused model of care. Drawing on your lived experience, you will:
* Build strong rapport with veterans, current ADF members and their families
* Collaboratively identify recovery goals and develop individualised action plans
* Support clients to navigate services such as housing, counselling and community supports
* Facilitate and co-facilitate group programs
* Participate in multidisciplinary case review meetings
* Promote services within the community and strengthen stakeholder networks
This is a hybrid role, offering flexibility while maintaining strong team collaboration.
About You To be successful, you will demonstrate:
* Mandatory lived experience of Army service or military family life, and a personal or family mental health recovery journey
* Background in mental health, mentoring, coaching or community support roles
* Strong communication skills and the ability to advocate for recovery-oriented, trauma-informed practice
* High levels of emotional intelligence, integrity and professionalism
* Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
* Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work (or willingness to obtain) is desirable

* Ability to travel regionally where required (specific locations noted above)
