Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Workplace Health and Safety Advisor to join our team. This is a pivotal role that will support us in strengthening Queensland's building and construction industry by providing workplace health and safety advice, service, and assistance.
About the Role
You will play a critical part in ensuring compliance with WHS legislation, codes of practice, Australian standards, and international standards. Your expertise will be utilised to conduct site audits and inspections, provide guidance on safety management systems, and assist with incident investigations.
Key Responsibilities
* Conducting site WHS&E audits and inspections to ensure compliance with legislative requirements.
* Providing WHS&E advice and guidance to operational, supervisory, and management staff.
* Assisting with the development and delivery of information sessions educating on WHS&E information and activities.
* Assisting with reporting and investigating incidents.
* Assisting with worker rehabilitation and return-to-work programs.
* Coordinating emergency planning and response activities.
* Developing, reviewing, and implementing SWMSs, risk assessments, and WHS Management plans.
Requirements
* Knowledge of industry hazards, risks, and control measures.
* Ability to interpret WHS legislation, codes of practice, and Australian standards.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Demonstrated capacity to work effectively in a team environment.
