Kooinda Workbase Child Care Centre is a welcoming, purpose-built 56-place long day care nestled in the leafy bushland of the University of Newcastle campus. Meaning "a happy place" in Awabakal, Kooinda fosters community, nature connection, and a passionate team, many with KU experience spanning 5 to 20 years.

Children explore a large yard with cubbies, climbing frames, and mud kitchens, enjoying outdoor adventures and sustainability-focused activities using natural, upcycled materials.

Staff enjoy a bright, peaceful break room and are encouraged to bring their own interests into the classroom. Easily accessible by public transport or car, Kooinda offers a supportive, creative environment where children and educators thrive.

This is a Full time role; Mon-Friday 7.6 hours/day

Of course, you will need:

* Australian working rights
* A current NSW Working with Children Check
* An ACECQA recognised Certificate 3
* Completed training in Child Protection legislation
* Current First Aid and CPR certificate
* Sound understanding of the Education and Care Services National Law and the Education and Care Services National Regulations
* Working knowledge of the Early Years Learning Frameworks (EYLF)
