CS Energy is shaping Queensland's energy future, delivering safe, reliable, and affordable power while steering a major transformation across its portfolio. With a clear strategy for growth and a renewed focus on innovation, partnerships and commercial excellence, the organisation is building the capabilities needed to deliver a resilient and sustainable energy system for Queensland.
This newly created position offers an exceptional opportunity to lead the development of gas-related projects that sit at the heart of CS Energy's evolving Integrated Gas Portfolio. As part of the Energy Transition division, the Head of Gas Development will identify and progress investable, strategic opportunities that strengthen gas generation capability, enhance portfolio flexibility and support Queensland's broader energy transition objectives.
Working closely with the Chief Energy Transition Officer, the role leads a multidisciplinary team responsible for opportunity identification, stakeholder engagement, commercial evaluation and development, contract negotiations and project delivery. It carries significant influence across the organisation and the sector - engaging with government, regulators, industry bodies, joint venture partners, market operators, and community stakeholders.
Success in this role will come from shaping commercially viable projects, building strong stakeholder relationships, and confidently navigating regulatory complexity. You will bring strong technical capability, exceptional negotiation skills, and a strategic, forward‑looking view of how gas supports CS Energy's long‑term sustainability. The role also requires experience in commercial and deal structuring to support public and private partnerships aligned with the Queensland Energy Roadmap.
The remit spans strategic planning, market analysis, commercial structuring, project development, and investment recommendations. It requires someone who thrives in a complex, policy‑rich environment, who can originate opportunities, see the whole system, and bring clarity and confidence to senior leaders and the Board. Equally important is the ability to lead people well whilst fostering collaboration, encouraging innovation, and developing capability across a team that is driving some of the most significant growth opportunities in CS Energy's portfolio.
We are seeking an accomplished leader with deep experience in gas, energy or infrastructure development, a sophisticated understanding of gas and electricity markets, and a track record delivering commercially and strategically meaningful outcomes. You will bring commercial acumen, strong stakeholder influence, analytical strength, and the ability to translate opportunity into tangible progress. Experience working with regulators, industry partners, financiers, and government will be highly regarded.
If shaping Queensland's energy future and driving high‑value growth opportunities excites you, we'd love to hear from you. You'll be part of a talented, collaborative team that values innovation and works together to deliver real results.
