About the roles:
The PKI Engineer and Senior PKI Engineer are integral members of the Identity and Access Management (IAM) function within the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) at the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA). They are primarily responsible for supporting the design, implementation, and maintenance of Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) solutions in Azure and AWS Cloud environments. Collaborating closely with stakeholders, they ensure PKI solutions adhere to security standards and compliance regulations.
Candidates must be Australian citizens eligible to obtain or maintain NV1 Security clearance.
Key Responsibilities:
* Spearhead the design, execution, and continuous maintenance of robust Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) solutions, covering certificate authorities (CAs), digital certificates, and cryptographic key management.
* Engage collaboratively with stakeholders to grasp project intricacies and translate them into meticulously crafted PKI configurations, ensuring seamless alignment with project objectives.
* Take charge of configuring and overseeing PKI components, such as certificate servers, certificate revocation lists (CRLs), and certificate lifecycle management systems, with a keen focus on either ensuring strict compliance with regulatory standards and security best practices or ensuring alignment with regulatory standards and security best practices.
* Drive initiatives to optimize PKI solutions, emphasizing scalability, performance, and security enhancements, while staying abreast of industry best practices and emerging technologies.
* Innovate and implement automation strategies to streamline PKI operations, significantly boosting efficiency and fortifying security posture.
Required skills and experience:
* Extensive proficiency in architecting, deploying, and sustaining Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) solutions.
* Exceptional communication prowess coupled with adept stakeholder management abilities.
* Thorough understanding of PKI concepts, protocols, and standards, or alternatively, extensive expertise as a subject matter authority with leading PKI products and platforms such as Microsoft Active Directory Certificate Services (AD CS), Entrust, GlobalSign, or equivalent, is highly advantageous.
* Proven track record in designing or implementing within Cloud environments like Azure or AWS.
* Strong aptitude for collaborative teamwork alongside the capacity to autonomously handle workload and priorities.
